"Who is my mother?"

Sometimes we allow GOOD things to keep us from the BEST thing.
In Matt. 12:46-50, Mary and Jesus' brothers came to see Him, but Jesus (knowing their intentions) did not allow even His family to interrupt His ministry.
In fact, He goes so far as to say, 48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? 49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! 50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.
Jesus did not allow them to hinder His ministry. He had not lost affection for His human family, he was simply putting them in their proper place or priority.
It is sad to see how many are doing just the opposite today. They let every little family get-together keep them from their ministry and service to God.
Thank God for our family. But can we really ask God to bless us when we allow things to come before Him? Just a thought.
