From Cell To Sale

The Lord has blessed Community Baptist Church with some wonderful people with a heart for ministry. One of our members, Bro. Keith Johnson, ministers in the local nursing home and does a wonderful job. My youngest son, Anthony goes with him and plays the piano for him. That is what I used to do when I was a teenager and learning to play the piano. Of course back then I was still learning to play so my version of "Victory In Jesus" sounded somewhat similar to "She'll Be Coming 'Round The Mountain." But Anthony does a great job and I am proud of him. Then, my oldest son, Tyler, goes almost every Saturday with Bro. Lamont Green to our Jail Ministry. I also went and preached in the jail a few weeks ago. Last Saturday, they came back rejoicing because they had five men saved! What a blessing! Tyler led three of them to the Lord! Then Saturday night we had our annual "Love Auction." Church members donated all sorts of goods and items to be auctioned. We brought in some professional auctioneers to run our auction and we had a great time! Everything was bought and all the money went toward our benevolence fund to help needy families throughout the year. Psalm 41:1 says, "Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble." So, we literally went from Cell to Sale ministering for the Lord!
