Bigger And BIGGER!
Psalms 70:4 "Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified."
To magnify something can either mean to "make something look bigger than it is" or "to see something as big as it is." Well, there is no way we can make God look bigger than He already is, so I believe what we need to be doing is seeing God as BIG as He already is!
It is a wonderful thought to think that we serve a God Who is bigger than any problem or any person or an plan that comes against us.
The people who love God and thank Him for their salvation will want to magnify Him. I must confess that too often I am guilty of magnifying my problems more than I magnify God. But I want my life to be centered around the fact that, as John said, "He must increase, but I must decrease."
It is interesting to note that the more worldly a person becomes, the more they exalt themselves and everything is about them. Satan wants it that way because then the attention is taken off Christ. But the more we walk in the Spirit, the less we will lift ourselves up. As great a Christian as Paul was, he said that he was "less than the least of all saints."
What a lesson we need to learn that everything is not always about us. It is not about making us look better. It is about exalting Christ and making Him look bigger and BIGGER!
